The Autumn Statement will be delivered by Chancellor George Osborne alongside the Government’s Spending Review on Wednesday 25 November.
Osborne has commissioned an autumn forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) for November and said he would combine the two statements, publishing a joint Autumn Statement and Spending Review on this date.
In a letter to the OBR, Osborne said: ‘As I have already announced a Spending Review for 25 November, I can therefore confirm that this event will be a joint Autumn Statement and Spending Review.’
The last growth and public spending forecasts published by the OBR were included in Osborne’s post-election Budget on 8 July.
Draft legislation on key measures such as the new dividend tax, replacing the Wear and Tear Allowance and restricting tax relief on buy-to-let interest is also expected to be published.
